“I always buy a lot of clothes when I come to Japan”

Q: What was your childhood dream?
GD: Singer. I dreamt of becoming a singer ever since I was a kid. I wrote lyrics for the first time when I was a student in elementary school. It was to express my feelings and I wanted to convey my thoughts to everyone.

Q: GD is always fashionable. What is the most important point when choosing your clothes?
GD: The shape is the most important point. I choose clothes that fit my body well. Before, I just like unique clothes that no one would wear. However, my taste is changing a little lately. Now, I like simple clothes or black stuff rather than something colorful. I buy a lot of clothes in Japan because there are lots of fashionable stores here. I think I go shopping more in Japan than in Korea.

Q: Your new single in Japan is “Beautiful Hangover” and GD wrote parts of the lyrics. What were your thoughts in this song?
GD: I have never made something with a theme like this before. The title of this song is “Beautiful Hangover”. “Love” and “Hangover” are two different things. When I wrote the lyrics, I was thinking of comparing love to something crazy that a person with a hangover would do. It was not a personal experience. I just imagined the situation of going crazy about someone. When I fall in love, I may be like the person in this song.

Q: What is the most “Beautiful” thing for you?
GD: Sunset. I like it when the sun just sets and it looks red. Jeongdongjin in Korea is famous for its beautiful landscape of the sea where you can watch the beautiful sunset.

Q: How do you create your great songs?
GD: Sometimes, I create the melody with the lyrics already. But sometimes, I listen to a track that someone made first and it sparks my imagination. Then, I create the melody and the lyrics after. The melody and lyrics of “Somebody to Love” in the new album were made at the same time. I usually come up with lyrics around midnight just before falling asleep.

Q: What is the most unforgettable song of BIGBANG?
GD: “Lies” which was released in 2007 in Korea. Our name became popular because of this song. In addition, many happenings and funny events happened during the time we were promoting it. Because of these reasons, this song is the most unforgettable. I also like the MV because it was like a drama.

Q What do you really want to try this autumn?
GD: I want to try bungee jumping. (Laughs) You can do bungee jumping in Bundang in Korea but I have never tried it so I want to try. I want to jump to my heart’s content and drive all my stresses away. (Laughs) I’m not scared of standing somewhere high. The height you have to jump (for the bungee jumping) in Korea is about 40 meters. It doesn’t really matter to me. Maybe, I can even jump from somewhere higher…but 100 meters is probably impossible! (Laughs)

We want to know who Big Bang is in Seoul Korea, special coverage! Right now in Japan group Big Bang is soaring in popularity! In Korea, the group still attracts attention for being active as a group and as solo artists. This issue of “with” from Seoul, Korea will find out their undisguised appearance. We hit their dance studio, home, etc. This is the very first time local media in Japan does this kind of coverage in order to access their still unknown hearts!

South Korea’s music top representative group
BIGBANG debuted in August 2006 and had a major impact on the country called, South Korea. With their high and bass rap. Distinctive singing, music, dancing, they were equipped with such high quality that no one could believe it came from these young kids. The first time people’s eyes were on them was through the unprecedented, survival mode, documentary broadcasted. It was not only on TV, but as well as on the internet. The people who watched the sometimes happy, other times crying, and giving up appearances of these young boys, suddenly became their prisoner. They released 3 singles over the spam of only half a year and immediately dominated the charts. The 5 of them are a group that have literally swept the entire nation.

But they didn’t reach the top spot easily
G-DRAGON, SOL spent their life as trainees for as long as 6 years. VI had to audition more than once as he failed the first time made it in the end after experiencing the life of a trainee for a year and a half. He experienced bone-cut lessons and the severity of being a professional he felt it with his own skin. They impressed people with their skills, their personality and the bonds between the members that people called empathic. In addition, their unique fashion and multi-talents received support from the people. Since they had their major debut in Japan in 2009, they have been receiving more and more momentum. On this issue of “With”, we are going to Seoul to look for them, just like they are. At YG Entertainment we are covering all areas, the dance studio, gym, recording studio etc. A talk with their hearts will be conveyed comfortably since they are at home!

Wishing to free the strong mind since the past. G-DRAGON’s sensibility seems to have already been exerted since his childhood.

“I have heard from other people who even when I’m compared to people my own age, I’m more deep and thoughtful. Plus I think I’m a little more on the adult/mature side. From early in my life, I would listen to music, watch movies…and I would get more deeply excited than my classmates, when I found artistic things that were touching to me I even cried. Now if I had to pick what influenced my emotional/sensitive side, it would be Wu Tang’s music that I heard in 4th grader. Since then I had the dream of wanting to rap and I began to write songs’ lyrics.”

Since his start of school he started to make music, produce and his fashion sense….Behind all of his unusual talent the, “I want freedom”, idea has had a great influence.

“The thought of wanting to be free has always been very strong since the past. I think it appears in my music and fashion. As a result of this I’m thankful to the people around me that accept this and that favorably say that’s just part of my personality. I want freedom but at the same time I don’t like doing anything ambiguous. I’m the type that is always certain/determined in everything I do. Basically, freedom isn’t all I want. Rather than that, I want to think that all the choices I make for my distant future have been made by me. “

Wishing to be free but disliking being ambiguous. That sounds like the kind of nature of a leader who presides over his unique members. Also, the trainee time took 6 years, that made him more committed and professional.

“I think that without my trainee period I wouldn’t be where I am now. It’s true that time was painful but at the same time it was a good time. I got through it all because it was what I wanted. Just thinking about music and dance, made me put all my passion on it. Even now I still love music but, other than music there are other things I have to think about. Sometimes I think that I want to go back, it would be nice. To just simply chase what I enjoyed doing. (laughs)”

It’s possible for him to say such things because G-DRAGON isn’t going to escape, because he is on the next stage.

“I’m still only 22 years old. At my age, I need to experience different things from now on. To build myself, I want to take it slowly. Then one day, I wonder if I can become a nice/cool man. (laughs)”

Dating Q&A #1: What kind of person do you become when you are dating?
In the past I didn’t think much of it, just of the person I like, but right now realistically, I think it’s impossible to be together with her or to do something for her. So if I think that way, I think it’s because I’m passive to love.

Dating Q&A #2 What do you think about the thought of distance from the person you like?
Right now I don’t know how to put in words the distance I’m thinking about in my mind….but I think a bit of a distance feeling is needed [for a relationship]. I have to look after my personal privacy but anywhere you go finding privacy isn’t easy.

Dating Q&A #3 Do you find yourself thinking of marriage?
Of course I don’t think of it right now, but I don’t want to think that it will be in the very distant future. However, when I’m married I want to have a good time always, just like the times of when we dated. Even with a baby I would like to make anywhere in the world we go a possible environment to live in.

Drawing for the future, what do you think you need for now?
To not forget the original intentions, take time to create ourselves. What we need the most now is rest, time, novice, and a hungry mind. In Korea groups start going independent or form a group with other members after 4 to 5 years. For Big Bang the timing is close, but us 5 should still pursue for more without forgetting our original intentions and taking time to create our own selves.

Q. Did you already get used to Japan?
A. Yes. I’m already an 80% Japanese. Sometimes I don’t even understand Korean… I was joking (laughs).
Q. What surprised you the most when you came to Japan?
A. Meal ticket vending machines. You don’t see them in Korea. Also, the amount of magazines in convenience stores. But, since I can’t read kanji, I just look at the pictures (laughs).
Q. What has gotten you hooked on lately?
A. I got my driving licence, so now I’m interested in cars. I’m in love with cool and fast sports cars. That’s cause I’m still young (laughs).
Q. When can you relax yourself?
A. When I listen to music I feel completely at ease. When we come to Japan I bring my own speakers to play my favourite music in the hotel.
Q. What are you collecting?
A. It’s a little bit embarrassing but… LEGO (construction toys). I have lots at home. After I complete (finish) them I feel so good that I wanna boast in front of my friends. Something like 「This is my son」.

A. Cheongdam-dong in Seoul. There are elegant restaurants and wine bars there.
It’s a quiet area with a mature (adult-like) feeling to it. It’s one of my favorite places too. If you have the chance, please go check it out.

A. All of them are so stylish! It’s great that they have their own personality. I feel that they don’t just simply follow the fashion, but they arrange it as it suits them best. Also, there are many girls with a cute voice, or more like a cute way of speaking.The sound of the Japanese language is sweet and very nice.
Q. What do you do on your days off?
A. I do all the things that I can’t usually do. Like studying, watching films…. I’m an indoors kind of person, so I’m at home most of the time. One film that I’ve enjoyed lately is 「Ironman 2」. I love American hero movies.

Hi people ! I'm here to update on the days i went out (:
10JUNE2009Movie Marathon
Woke up early in the morning and bathed .
Then i went to find Kai Lee first because she's buying bottled drinks .
I went to help her carry it to Kelly's house .
Ira woke up late so me and Kai Lee was even later cuz the
convenient shop is very far away from her house .
Fidah didn't come cuz her mom doesn't allow T.T
Watched two movies and went to fetch Kai Jun from the bus stop .
After watching a horror movie , Kai Jun , Kai Lee and Ira went home first .
Ira has a curfew , Kai Lee and Kai Jun needs to pack for their band camp .
I went home late cuz i need to wait for my father to fetch me from Kelly's house .
Played poker cards with Kelly and Kelly's mother .

Went out with Kelly, Ira and Fidah together with Kelly's mom ,
Kelly's mom's friend and her son .
Took train to Pasir Ris , Whitesand and Kelly ate her breakfast .

The haunted house is a new one ! Its scarier .

Went to City Hall to meet Ren Fong , the one who brings us around .
Walked to St. Andrew's Cathedral . A very nice church (:
Went to the flea market(Flea Max) and bought a T-Shirt for only five dollars !
Then went to eat our lunch (Hot Dog Bun)/(Cavana Chicken Rice) .
Watched some performance . Took some pic . Will upload when Kelly uploads it .

Dental Appointment

I woke up at 7 cuz i needa go to school for the dental appointment .
I expect the dentist to be a lady but its a guy .
Went for breakfast with my dad first then head to school .
Waited for Ann near the canteen and then went in together .
A lot of people should come but they didn't !
Anisah's still at home , not bathed . I think she just woke up .
OMGOSH !
The dentist's so rough with my mouth !
I know he don't like my face ah .
He ripped open my mouth ! What the !
Then when i need to do x-ray , the thing is so big
and he's so cho lo can .
The friction between the sharp part of the thing is rubbing against my gum .
And my gum bled obviously . A little .
Cuz i keep drooling . You know , when something is at the side of your mouth .
So big , and you can't close your mouth .
So eventually , you can't swallow your saliva and in the end , you drool .
Right ?
He suggest that i put on braces cuz there's a lot of holes .
And my front tooth is potruding out too much i guess ? -.-
I asked for the price and the nurse said its about 3-4 THOUSAND !

Like finally . And i woke up late this morning !

Yesterday's PEA was fun !
We baked Rock Buns which is some kind of cookie .

But we failed to do that . Our's flat .

Talking Japanese was fun !
After we're dismissed , we still need to stay back for English Oral .
Was so nervous .

Felt sick and feverish . But din care about it .

Went to see the doctor after my sis came back .

Mid-Year Examinations is officially OVER ! Whoa !
Have been rushing my prep boards but in the end i still din manage to do 5 prep boards .
I only did 3 A3 size paper Primary Drawings and i did not do my Development and Final Layout .
Sad . Big loss of marks . I did those 3 prep boards until 4 in the morning today and slept for one and a half hour before waking up .
Sucha waste . Should have plan properly .
I did not even finish my Art during Exam !

Today was so B-O-R-I-N-G ! Ms Ng's not here .

I slept late last night to revise my math and yet Ms Ng never came ...

Nowadays i never post because too busy already . I also have no time to on com . Lets say yesterday . Went to the bookshop after school to buy something , queue about less than 30 minutes plus ? Then deciding whether to go for CCA anot . Then i decide not to go cuz i still got Physics mind-map need to do . Then ate in school and head home . Walk front gate somemore ! Then reach home , bathe le , then i start working at my Physics . Look look here look look there . Then i go to my bed and sleep le -.- Wake up that time already 11 pm plus . Eat , watch tv unil 12 am plus . Then i do homework , until 3 am plus . Then i sleep , 5 am plus wake up . Lols .

Today my left eye the contact lens don't know what happen . Very irritating , keep putting eye mo also no use . After 30 minutes like that quite ok le . After school , went to Kai Li's classroom . Wait for Joycelyn and Kai Lee . They all got Chemistry SPA cuz they Pure Chemistry ma , 3.30 pm dismiss . We wait for them until 3.45 pm they still haven't come . Then we start to call them lo . TODAY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL ! Lols . Woke up at 5.30 am , but not early enough . Estimated wrongly . Should wake up at 5 . But i only slept at 4 ! Oh my ! Cuz can't sleep ! Don't know why . Then wake up le , bathe for 45 minutes -.- then went out of house . Already late for the meeting time with Kai Li, Zoe, Zephyra and Kai Jun . Then i reach le only Kai Jun and Zoe there . Haha . Then Kai Li came and lastly Zephyra came . Reach school , saw Joey , Ira and her 'underwear' . LOL . Its actually her pouch ( a underwear pouch ) . Then went to the toilet near the parade square . Bump into Amanda . Then Amanda's bag is the same as Kai Jun's ( Backpack ) . So Kai Jun was like so fascinated by it then pulled Amanda's bag then Amanda pull Kai jun's bag then they like the dog following its tail like that turn round and round . Lol . So funny . Hahas . On 31 December 2008 i did not go out lo -.- Was like staying at home the whole day . Bought my school books also at popular . Lol . First , woke up . Then vacum the whole house . Then went to bathe . Played com . At night , ate dinner with family , sis went Jia En's house to have steamboat . Then me , my mom and dad went to causeway to buy my textbooks . I gave my book list to the staff and he ask me to go back after 10 minutes , during that 10 minutes i went to look for my school shoes at Sports Link . But like all not nice lei . Haha . Then i went back up to take my books . I thought need to waste bout $100++ then when i see the amount of books he found - only 2 books . Zzz -.- Others i still need to go back to school to buy . Bought my school shoes at Bata then went back home . Watch tv , sent New Year wishes in Friendster cuz nothing to do . Until 3 plus then i sleep . Lols .

On 1 January 2009 went to causeway with family in the afternoon . Ate Ajisen Ramen , then went to shop for New Year clothes . Then my sister wnt to work , my father too . Left me and my mom . Walk around at Courts then went to Pizza Hut to have pizza . Ira saw me but i did not see her . LOL . Then i went to the pasamalam ? Then bought my wallet there . Alot of nice clothing there . But not suitable for me . Hahas . Slept at 4 ! Cuz was awake by my sis when she come home from work T.T

Yo people ! Hahax ^^ On monday i watched Wall.E with Kelly, Kai Lee, Zephyra, Jing Quan and his friend . Lols . I was late for the meeting time as always . Cuz the stupid bus broke down . Lols . When the bus was reaching the bus stop, i was looking why is there smoke behind the bus . Then i was like ' Is the bus going to break down ? Or people are spraying smoke for the mosquitoes ? ' Then i hesitated to board the bus . But i went up . And sat infront . Cuz scared what . Lols . Then ya . The bus broke down at Woodlands Mart there . And took another bus to Causeway .

Went to Singapore Fire Brigade thing for the civil defence (: Hehes . FUN ! Went there then went to the toilet there -.- with Zephyra and Ann . Then they both were in the toilet then i was waiting for one of them to come out . Then i bang their door then suddenly when i bang onto Zephyra's door , the door open ! OMG -.- Then when i try to close the door , **NOTE** ( there's no door knob ) then Zephyra go push the door close then i no time to take back my hand and OUCH ! My middle finger shouted for help ! After that meet Xue ni at bus stop to go Greenwood Primary ( Kelly's PRI SCHOOL ) and decided to take cab down . Cuz no time . Se Ira and Joycelyn went back home first . We waited very long for a cab though . And finally ! There's a cab . Ahhas . So went to Greenwood . Xue Ni meeted her friend near some blocks , me and kelly went into the school but being chased out after that . Went to Admiralty Primary School ( my PRI SCHOOL ) . But Kelly stayed at Admiralty MRT to meet her mom . Went to meet Gina and Linda . Security don't let me in , so i make my own way . Just walk in . Lols . After that Sandra went in to join . Saw Mr Lee , talk for a while and went outside school . Saw alot of primary school friends . Quite happy . But Selena not there T.T

Yesterday went out with Kelly, Kai Lee, Zephyra, Kai Jun, Mei Ting and Jing Quan. Went to National Museum((: To the night festival. Ahhas. So fun la!! Then when we meeting each other so ma fan. Lols. Kai Jun is the last one to reach. Hahax^^ Then when we reach there we don't know how to go! Hahax^^ then we see the map then finally reach there.

At there we saw a TV STAR! OMG!! I din see-.- They all see T.T Sad. Ahhas^^ Then after the museum we went to eat. It is already about 9 plus. We went to Plaza Singapra to eat. LONG JOHN SILVER!!! XDDD Then after we ate we went home. And then when we at the escalator, Mei Ting say : "Mdm, What would you like to have" Then Zephyra turn back and say :" I want Cynthia's Milk" LOL!! So funny la! Then when at a straight escalator, got a auntie see us take photo until she fall down. So funny lo! XDD

Hihi((: 20 June went ice skating in the morning with my sis, Bo Zong and Jun Hao^^ Hahax. Morning i went to Admiralty MRT with my sis to wait for Bo Zong and Jun Hao. Then when we are reaching, we called Bo Zong, then we know he haven't wake up yet-.- Then Jun Hao is still choosing his clothes. Lol. Hahax^^ So slow-.- Then we went to the foodcourt to eat. Then we headed to Jurong, go Fuji Ice Palace. Hahax^^ Then very funny-.- Bo Zong's way of skating. Hahax((: Then Jun Hao knows how to skate-.- Zzzz. Lol.

After ice skating we went to Khatib to study. Lol. Bo Zong went Admiralty McDonald to study. Then Kelly joined us. Hahax^^ Never even studied-.- Zzz. Jun Hao videod a video. Then tickled Kelly.
